Russell Bryan Guay, 55, of Thacher Street, Attleboro, died unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, April 2, 2015. He was the former husband of Robin (Delorey) Walker of Florida. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on November 4, 1959, he was a son of the late Edgar and Pauline (Roy) Guay. He was raised in Plainville where he attended Plainville Elementary School, was a member of the Boy Scouts of America - Troop 46 and was a communicant of St. Martha Parish. He graduated from King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham in 1977. At King Philip he was a member of the school football team and served as team captain, was a member of the school honor society and was named "Outstanding Vocational Student of the Year" in 1977. He was a carpenter by trade and had been employed by Shawnlee Construction, Davin Corporation, Associated Framing Construction and Olympia Homes in Florida where he was a construction superintendent. He was also self-employed as the owner of "Eagle Homes". Mr. Guay loved his red corvette and was an ardent NASCAR fan having had attended the Daytona 500 on numerous occasions. He loved time spent on the water in his boat, was an avid reader, enjoyed keeping updated on current events, was a lifelong animal lover and was a Boston sports team fan. In addition to his former wife, he leaves his siblings: Barbara P. Maslen of North Attleboro; Roy H. Guay of Jamestown, Rhode Island; Kenneth E. Guay of Sanford, Maine and Jeffrey G. Guay of Rehoboth; 12 nieces and nephews, extended family members and many dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off Route 95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be private. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. Please omit flowers.
