Rosemarie Foley

Rosemarie "Rosie" (O'Brien) Foley, 77, of Attleboro, MA passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Boston Medical Center - South in Brockton, MA. She was the wife of the late John Joseph Foley II.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on May 6, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Francis O'Brien and the late Mary Louise (Sanna) O'Brien.

Although, she studied and trained to become a social worker, she primarily was a dedicated and devoted homemaker to her family.

She moved to South Attleboro, MA in 2003.

Rosie enjoyed reading, cross stitching, visiting with family and friends, dancing and cooking and baking. She enjoyed listening to music while playing her favorite online game, Scrabble.

She leaves her children: John J. Foley III of South Attleboro, MA and Kristen M. Petit of Seekonk, MA; two grandchildren: Kaileigh Petit and Lindsay Petit; her former son-in-law: Paul Petit; her sisters: Patricia O'Brien of Johnston, RI and Mary Louise Ide of New York and Johnston, RI; and several extended family members and her lifelong friend of over 60 years: Sheila Van Gyzen of East Providence, RI.

She was the maternal grandmother of the late McKenna Rose Petit and the late Nicholas Petit and was the sister of the late Lawrence Francis O'Brien.

Private committal prayers followed by burial will take place in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI.
