Obituary

Rose Alicia (Balian) Manoogian, 97, of Attleboro, MA passed peacefully at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro on January 23, 2026. She was the loving and dedicated wife of the late Charles Manoogian to whom she was married on May 6, 1950. Rose and Charles had two children, the late Marcia Manoogian, and is survived by David C. Manoogian and his wife, Judy, of North Attleboro.

Rose was born on February 4, 1928 in Milford, MA to Hagop and Araxci Balian where she was raised together with her late twin sister Melanie (aka Blanche) Berberian and her late sister Laura Harotian in a loving and large Armenian family. She was a graduate of Milford High School.

Rose is also survived by her three grandchildren, Matthew Manoogian and his wife Melissa of Oro Valley, AZ, Mark Manoogian of Carlsbad, CA, and Alexandra Azarian and her husband Michael of Old Tappan, NJ; as well as her eight great grandchildren, Max Manoogian, Jake Manoogian, Theo Manoogian, Michael Azarian, Scarlett Azarian, Ellie Manoogian, Charles Azarian and James Manoogian. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Rose was a long-time resident of Attleboro and also lived for over 20 years in North Attleboro. She was a talented artist and often painted murals, furniture and pictures for friends and family. Rose worked in the graphic design department Jostens in Attleboro where she was involved with the design of class rings for high schools and colleges. She later worked in Attleboro as a medical assistant for the later Andrew Dadagian, MD and for Family Medicine of South Attleboro.

In retirement she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's North Attleboro High School sporting events where she befriended the many friends of her grandchildren and was affectionately known as "Grandma Rose". Rose also crocheted blankets and hats for friends, and all family members have these cherished items.

During her final years at Brookdale Assisted Living in Attleboro she was able to renew old acquaintances and make many new friends.

Rose was a loving, dear sweet soul who was loved and admired by all and will be deeply missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend Rose's visitation and service on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 10:00 AM to Noon at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA followed by collation thereafter.

Burial will be private at a later date.
