Rosanna Alexina Lacroix

Rosanna A. (Houde) LaCroix, 98, of Park Street, Attleboro; formerly of South Main Street, Attleboro, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro where she had been a resident since June 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late John Edward LaCroix who died on June 28, 1989. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts at the family home in the Dodgeville section of the city on December 3, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Jeffrey and Alexina (LaCroix) Houde. She was a lifelong resident of the City of Attleboro and had attended Attleboro public schools. Mrs. LaCroix was employed as a textile worker at the former Dodgeville Finishing Company for many years prior to her retirement in 1979. A loving and caring woman, she was affectionately known to her family and friends by many names including "Nin", "Rosie", "Rose" and "Louise". She was a lifelong communicant of the former St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Dodgeville. Her favorite pastimes included sewing, reading, solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing cribbage and card games but her most treasured time was that spent gardening. She leaves a loving brother: Armand Houde of Attleboro and four generations of devoted and dedicated cousins and nieces and nephews. Mrs. LaCroix was the sister of the late Leonard Houde, Joseph Houde and Eugene Houde. At her request, visitation is respectfully omitted. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at St. Stephen's Cemetery, South Main Street, Attleboro with the Rev. Phillip Davignon, officiating. Burial will follow. At the conclusion of services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations in her name and memory may be made to the Resident Activities Fund of the Life Care Center of Attleboro, 969 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
