Ronald Edward Wilson Sr., of Norton, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Janice Dean (Cassidy) Wilson, to whom he was married for sixty years.Born in Cleveland, OH on January 5, 1939, he was the son of the late Melvin Edward Wilson and the late Ruth Clara (Messner) Wilson.Ronald attended Tolman High School and continued his education at the Attleboro Trade High School, Massasoit College, and Lowell University. He proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Navy from 1956 until 1962, and worked for thirty-five years as a Plant Engineer for the Checon Corporation in North Attleboro before retiring in 2003.Long an active member of the community, he served on the Norton Fire Department Rescue Squad and Dive Team, he was a member of the Norton and Mansfield Police Department's as a Special Police Officer, the Norton Zoning Board of Appeals, the Norton Lion's Club, and the Attleboro Foreman's Club. A man of many interests, he enjoyed camping, the outdoors, working around his house, fixing most anything, rebuilding automobiles, improving and selling houses, metal detecting, and traveling in his motor home. He had a deep sense of commitment to the military and for those who served our country. More than anything, Ronald loved spending time with his family and friends.In addition to his dear wife, Janice, he leaves his loving children: Ronald E. Wilson Jr. and his wife, Kristin (Ford) Wilson, of Norton, MA; Heidi R. Paquin and her husband, Ross Paquin, of Attleboro, MA; Lisa I. Lamountain of North Attleboro, MA; and Michael E. Wilson and his wife, Christa N. (Briggs)Wilson, of Norton, MA. He was the step-son of the late Charles S. Jones of Sarasota FL. Ronald was the adoring grandfather of ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and the brother of Barbara Ann Lorek. He was predeceased by his brother, the late James M. Wilson.
