Ronald Anthony Megna, 81, of Attleboro, MA passed away shortly upon his arrival at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, Rhode Island on November 27, 2023.
Born in Boston, MA on February 20, 1942, he was a son of the late Anthony A. Megna and the late Josephine (Cirrone) Megna. He was raised and educated in the City of Boston and he resided there until moving to the Attleboro area.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Megna served from his enlistment on April 9, 1964, until his honorable discharge on March 22, 1970, having achieved the rank of E-3.
His favorite pastimes included spending time with his grandchildren creating lifelong memories and he was a devoted and dedicated New England Patriots fan.
He was the beloved father of Master Chief Mark R. Megna, U.S. Navy, and his wife, Joan (Vieira) Megna, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii and Erik A. Nolette and his fiancé, Tayla Lazarz, of East Freetown, MA; he was a "father figure" to Jane Fratus and her daughter, Tiffany Tedino, of North Attleboro, MA and Joshua Dupras, Jr. North Attleboro, MA; his cherished grandchildren: Savanah Megna, Madison Megna, Brooklyn Megna, Emma Nolette and Brynnleigh Nolette; his siblings: Anthony Megna and his wife, Carol Megna, North Attleboro, MA; Phillip Megna and his wife, Ginger Megna, of Sutton, MA; Joseph Megna and his wife, Marilyn Megna, of North Attleboro, MA; Phyllis Jillson, wife of the late Mert Jillson, of Nashua, NH and also leaves several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mr. Megna was the brother of the late Robert Megna, Richard Megna, Francis Megna.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 2:15 pm at St. Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, North Attleboro, MA.
