Ronald Arthur Bedard, 62, of Washington Street, Plainville, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston on Sunday, November 23, 2014. He was the husband of Christine L. (Kent) Bedard to whom he was married on August 31, 1973 in North Attleboro. Born in Attleboro on June 17, 1952, he was a son of the late Arthur A. and Daisy E. (Harrison) Bedard. He resided in Plainville for the past two years having moved to the community from the City of Attleboro. Mr. Bedard was employed by the Town of Mansfield School Department as a custodian for 25 years prior to his retirement in 2013. He will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful husband and father devoted and dedicated to his cherished family. His favorite pastimes included gardening, gambling and spending time with family, friends and his feline companion, "Pez". Since his retirement, he greatly enjoyed time spent cooking. In addition to his wife of 41 years, he leaves a daughter: Rachael L. Bedard of Attleboro; a son: Mark P. Bedard and his wife, Rebecca E. (Gonsalves) Bedard of Attleboro; a brother: Raymond Connors in Florida and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Arlene Skroupa, Daniel Connors and Doris Audette. Visitation is respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service in Celebration of His Life at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the North Attleboro Elks Lodge, Bulfinch Street, North Attleboro. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Attleboro Animal Shelter, 43 South Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760. The Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. (508) 695-0200
