Roger William Waite, Jr, 80, of Attleboro, MA., went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2024. He was born March 28, 1944, in Attleboro, MA., to the late Roger William Waite, Sr., and Jane Louise (Hayes) Waite. He was raised on North Worcester Street in Norton, MA.
Roger leaves behind his wife of 53 years Carol (Enlow) Waite, their children, Michael Waite and his wife Erin of Plainville, Cheri Haustein and her husband Joerg of Surrey, England, and Jim Waite of Attleboro, as well as four grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Larkin and her husband Ed Carter of the Atlanta area, and Rebecca and her husband Richard Lee of Foxboro. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Waite.
He was a 1962 graduate of Norton High School and served in the Navy and Merchant Marines. Roger worked as a machine maintenance mechanic at Balfour, Handy and Harmon, and other businesses in the Attleboro area. Roger loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with engines and machines, playing his accordion, writing poetry, and singing. Right up to the end, he spent his time singing to the Lord.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 pm.
Burial will be private at Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
The family wishes to thank all those who cared for him during the last few years when Rog's health challenges increased. Doctors, nurses, CNAs, and all who contributed to his well-being and health and comfort. Our deepest thanks and appreciation for your care!
