Roger Glode

July 28, 1945 — September 18, 2019

Roger William Glode Sr., 74, of Woonsocket, RI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at home surrounded by his family.  He was the beloved wife of Jacqueline Elizabeth (Knapik) Glode, to whom he was married on November 25, 1966.
Born on July 28, 1945 in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Ernest Glode and the late Doris (Lee) Glode.
Roger spent the greater part of his life in the Woonsocket area. He proudly and honorably served our country for seventeen years in the National Guard, and worked for twenty-seven years as a heavy equipment operator for the North Smithfield Highway Department before retiring.
A true outdoorsman, Roger loved freshwater fishing and hunting. He enjoyed listening to country music and studying Native American culture.
In addition to his wife, Jacqueline, he leaves his loving children: Roger William Glode Jr. of Uxbridge, MA; and Tara Tracy of Woonsocket, RI.  He was the beloved father of Scott David Glode who passed away in 2009.  Roger was the proud grandfather of four granddaughters and great-grandfather of three great-grandchildren, and was looking forward to the birth of his fourth great-grandchild. Roger is survived by his siblings: Henry Glode, Anita Cote, Joann Duquette, Lois Ward, Alan Glode, Bruce Glode, and James Glode, all of Woonsocket, RI.
