Robert Reed

Robert Reed, 87, of Attleboro, formerly of Stoughton, MA passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 with his loving wife Susan (Flynn) Reed by his side. Retirement from the U.S. Postal Service allowed time to enjoy his favorite pastimes, walking and watching the Boston Bruins.Bob loved to travel, always looking forward to his next "road trip".A military history enthusiast, he proudly served our country in Korea and remained a soldier through his life, supporting military organizations and participating in local veteran's events.Dear to his heart was his membership in the 7th Infantry Division.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Zarella) Reed. In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by his brother, Jack, of Stoughton, MA; his son, Kenneth, of North Attleboro, MA; and his daughter, Carol, of Norton, MA. He was the loving grandfather of Kyle, Carlene, and Daton.A private memorial service was held, followed by interment with full military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob's name can be made to Homes for Our Troops, 6 Main Street, Taunton, MA 02780.Arrangements were under the direction of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
