Robert Joseph Reardon, Sr., 91, of Dexter, ME, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Thelma Reardon.Born on November 4, 1926 in Dudley, MA, he was the son of the late Edward Ignatius Reardon and the late Mary Blanche (Payant) Reardon. Robert proudly and honorably served our country as a career military member in both the United States Air Force and the United States Army. His service included tours of duty during World War II, the Korean War Conflict, and the Vietnam War, before retiring from the military in 1965. A man of great faith and devotion, he was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro, MA, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter, ME. Robert served as past department commander of the Massachusetts AmVets, and was a proud life member of the AmVets, the DAV, the VFW, and the Masons.Robert is survived by his children: Kathleen M. (Reardon) Gonzales of Ashland, MA; Robert J. Reardon, Jr. and his wife, Ginnie Reardon, of Dexter, ME; Kevin M. Reardon of Framingham, MA; Valerie T. (Reardon) Davitt and her husband, Tom Davitt, of Framingham, MA; and Lisa M. (Reardon) MacKenzie-Seward and her husband, Jay Seward, of NC. He was the brother of Dorothy (Reardon) Wetherbee of Thompson, CT, and the late Walter Reardon. Robert was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to honor and remember Robert at a Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the historic Obed Robinson House - 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by Military Honors.Burial will be private on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at which Robert will be laid to rest alongside his late wife, Thelma.
