Robert John Plumer, Sr.

Robert John Plumer, Sr., 69, of North Washington Street, North Attleboro; formerly of Division Street, North Attleboro and Wrentham and Foxboro; died on October 9, 2012 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home where he had been a resident since August 30, 2012. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on September 11, 1943, he was a son of the late Henry Richard Plumer, Sr. and Patricia Ann (Lane) Plumer. He was raised and educated in Wrentham where he was a 1961 graduate of King Philip Regional High School. Mr. Plumer was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a resident of Madonna Manor since August and had resided in North Attleboro for a year and was a former resident of Wrentham, Foxboro and California. He was employed as a taxi driver for Sharon Taxi and Foxfield Taxi until his retirement. Previously, Mr. Plumer was employed as a school bus driver for special needs students in California and provided transportation to fires for firefighters in the California mountains and was a driver for Disneyland Hotel. He enjoyed driving not only professionally but during his personal time as well. Mr. Plumer was a World War II history buff. He leaves three children: Robert J. Plumer, Jr. of Foxboro; Cheri L. Plumer of Foxboro and Michael R. Plumer of Cumberland, Rhode Island; four grandchildren: his siblings: Henry R. Plumer, Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas: Walter W. Plumer in West Virginia; Mary R. Hurder of Cumberland, Rhode Island; John O. Plumer, Sr. of Foxboro and Michelle L. Magnuski of North Attleboro and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. At his request funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Plumer's name may be made to the American Cancer Society - Centralized Memorial Processing Center, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 to benefit patient transportation programs.
