Robert Leon Pisani of Fifth Street, Attleboro; a native of Franklin; died on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro on his 77th birthday. He was the husband of Judith W. (Kirk) Pisani to whom he was married on November 25, 1961. Born in Franklin, Massachusetts on November 1, 1934, he was a son of the late Anthony J. and Pearle (Cote) Pisani. He was raised and educated in Franklin where he was a 1952 graduate of Franklin High School. He later attended Northeastern University. Mr. Pisani was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from his enlistment on June 2, 1953 and proudly served until his honorable discharge on May 24, 1957 when he was transferred to the United States Navy Reserves. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal. Mr. Pisani was employed as an electronic technician for many years and retired from Hewlett-Packard in Waltham where he had been employed for 16 years. Previously, he was employed by the Polaroid Corporation, the Foxboro Company and I.B.M. A resident of Attleboro since 1963, he previously resided in Norwood for a short time. He attended the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. Mr. Pisani enjoyed the time spent working on his property and helping family and friends with their own home improvement projects. He treasured the time spent at the ocean with a special fondness for the sounds of the waves. In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, he leaves three children: Kirk L. Pisani of Belchertown; Craig L. Pisani of Attleboro and Leanne T. Pisani of Attleboro; two grandchildren: Noa Pisani and Marin Pisani both of Belchertown; his siblings: Claire Santagata in Rhode Island; Rae Astbury in Maine; Toni Cellemme in New Hampshire; Rodney, Norman and Kenneth Pisani all in Massachusetts and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was the brother of the late Eileen DAngelo, Ronald Pisani, Sandra Hosford and William Pisani. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation and a Celebration of His Life with Veterans Honors on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 10:00 AM 12:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial with military honors will be private in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Following remembrance services on Saturday, November 5, 2011 an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance at a location to be announced.
