Robert Joseph Nicolau

Robert Joseph Nicolau, 77, of Pawtucket, RI passed away on January 3, 2022, at Briarcliff Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Johnston, RI.
Born in Fall River, MA on June 12, 1944, he was a son of the late Everett Nicolau and the late Marie Agnes (LeBlanc) Nicolau.  Raised and educated in Fall River, MA, he resided in the city until moving to Pawtucket, RI more than 40 years ago.
Mr. Nicolau was employed as a housewares associate at Walmart in North Attleboro, MA for 14 years prior to his retirement.  He is remembered as being a helpful clerk attentive to the needs of customers. Previously, he had been a shipping and receiving clerk for Hasbro, Inc. in Pawtucket, RI for almost 30 years and had been previously employed by Monarch Cabinetry.
He was devout Catholic who would recite the Divine Mercy every afternoon at 3:00 p.m. and was a faithful communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, South Attleboro, MA.
Robert was happiest when using his woodworking skills to make wishing wells and he treasured the times spent flying kites.
He leaves two daughters: Joannie Lee Johnson with whom he resided in Pawtucket, RI and her fiancé, Mark J. Hogan and Sherrie Ann Gilmore and her husband, Stephen Gilmore of Navarre, Florida and four grandchildren: Dalton Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Jesse Gilmore, and Mackenzie Gilmore.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on MONDAY, January 10, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on THURSDAY, January 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, Baltic Street, South Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by accessing www.stjude.org .
