Robert Lawrence Morriseau, 89, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA on Monday, January 4, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Mae (Everton) Morriseau and the late Martha B. (Everson) Thompson Morriseau.
Born on August 2, 1931 in Attleboro, he was the son of the late Fredrick Joseph Morriseau and the late Eva R. (Dargis) Morriseau.
Robert was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro, having honorably served our country in the United States Army.
A skilled painter, he proudly and lovingly owned his own painting business for many years and had the distinct privilege of painting the mural of the Virgin Mary at Sacred Heart Church. Robert also worked for fifteen years in the mesh room and as a machinist at Whiting & Davis in Plainville, MA.
Robert was a lifelong member of the North Attleboro Elks and the VFW. An avid reader, especially of biographies and autobiographies, he enjoyed working around his home, taking walks several times a day - particularly enjoying Falls Pond - playing Solitaire, and rooting for the Red Sox. He loved to travel, enjoying trips to Hawaii, St. Thomas and Florida, where he could walk along the beaches, and to Las Vegas. More than anything, Robert treasured being in the company of his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.
He was the loving father of Donna J. Morriseau of Plymouth, MA; David P. Morriseau of Norton, MA; Donald J. Morriseau of North Attleboro, MA; and Diane M. (Morriseau) Parenteau of North Attleboro, MA. Robert was the proud and adoring grandfather of Amanda Mae Parenteau and her fiancé, Jon Easterbrooke, of North Attleboro, MA; and Nathan P. Parenteau of North Attleboro, MA. He was the brother of Jeannie Duphiney of Plainville, MA, the late Fredrick Morriseau, and the late Raymond Morriseau, and leaves several nieces and nephews, his extended family, and many dear friends.
All services for Robert will be private.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's memory to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
