Robert "Bob" L. Specht, 83, of South Attleboro, MA passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the beloved husband of Joyce M. (Jaron) Specht, whom he married on May 9, 1959.
Born in Pawtucket, RI on July 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Lawrence Specht and the late Annie (Myers) Specht. Raised and educated in Pawtucket, Bob was a graduate of the former East High School, now Tolman High School, in 1955.
He proudly and honorably served his country with the United States Marine Corps.
Bob was employed as a lithographer at the former Color Craft and the former Paramount both in Pawtucket from 1959 until 1977. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pawtucket, RI, and a resident of South Attleboro since 1963.
He loved fishing and ocean beaches; however, his fondest times were those spent in the company of his family, especially his grandchildren. Bob enjoyed traveling, trips to the casino, working around his yard, and had a lifelong love for animals.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by his loving children: Karen A. Bertrand and her husband, Eugene Bertrand, of Pascoag, RI; Michael E. Specht and his wife, Mary Hayward-Specht, of North Conway, NH; James L. Specht of South Attleboro, MA; and Tracey M. Barney and her husband, Kevin Barney, of North Attleboro, MA. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Bob leaves his sister-in-law: Roberta A. Jaron of North Attleboro, MA, brother-in-law: Dennis M. Jaron and his wife Arelene Jaron.
Visitation has respectfully been omitted.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
