Robert Joseph Joubert

Robert Joseph Joubert, 81, of Sandcastle Estates, Mendon Road, South Attleboro, died surrounded by his loving and devoted family at his residence on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 following a long illness. He was the cherished husband of Mary M. (Lynch) Joubert, R.N. to whom he was married on October 3, 1959. Born in South Attleboro, Massachusetts at the family homestead on December 24, 1931, he was a son of the late Louis and Bertha (Bonneau) Joubert. Mr. Joubert attended Sacred Heart Academy in Central Falls and remained a resident of South Attleboro for most of his life. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having been stationed in Japan during the Korean War era. Mr. Joubert was the former nine-year co-owner of the former Able Glass, Inc. on East Washington Street, North Attleboro. Previously, he was employed for more than 30 years at Bristol Glass Company in Attleboro. Among his many nicknames, he was affectionately referred to as "Bob" and "Joub" by his family and friends. Mr. Joubert was a communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church in South Attleboro and was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks - Lodge 1014, Attleboro and was a member of the American Legion - Post 312 in South Attleboro. He enjoyed fresh and salt water fishing, bird watching, and was an ardent bowler in earlier years; however, his greatest love was creating lifelong memories with his entire family to be cherished forever. His life was his family and he was so very proud of each and every one of them and their accomplishments. In addition to his wife, he leaves four sons: Chief Theodore R. Joubert, North Attleboro Fire Department and his wife, Lisa K. (Burns) Joubert, of South Attleboro; Captain Thomas M. Joubert, Attleboro Fire Department and his wife, Debra (Tedesco) Joubert, of South Attleboro; Firefighter and Paramedic Timothy J. Joubert, Jacksonville Fire Department, of Jacksonville, Florida and Lt. Daniel M. Joubert, St. John's County Fire and Rescue and his wife, Cynthia (Weinman) Joubert, of Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren: Alyssa D. Joubert of Jacksonville; Amanda P. Joubert of South Attleboro and currently studying in Florence, Italy; Jordyn B. Joubert of South Attleboro and Shane Joubert of South Attleboro; two sisters: Emeline Plante of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Theresa Mondor of Attleboro; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Marguerite Begin, Rose Turcotte, Wilfred Joubert, Alphege Joubert, Arcade Joubert, Theodore Joubert, Eugene Joubert and Leo Joubert. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children's room available during visitation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, Baltic Street, South Attleboro with the Rev. Jean-Paul Gallant, Pastor, officiating. Following the Mass of Christian Burial military honors in recognition of Mr. Joubert's service to our country will take place in front of the church. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland, Rhode Island will be private. There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home on Saturday, September 14, 2013 prior to the commencement of the funeral Mass. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for an afternoon of continued fellowship and reflection at a location to be announced. At the request of Mr. Joubert, please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers it was his desire that memorial donations be made to the North Attleboro Kid's Day Association, North Attleboro Firefighters Kid's Day Association, PO Box 3215, North Attleboro, MA 02761.
