Robert "Bob" Joseph Bedard

August 4, 1936 — June 26, 2022

Robert "Bob" Joseph Bedard, 85, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA.  He was the devoted husband of Beverly (Waite-Corbett) Bedard for 52 years.
Bob was born in Attleboro, MA, on August 4, 1936, the son of the late Joseph H. Bedard and Isabel (Heon) Bedard.
He was educated at Sacred Heart School and North Attleboro High School and for many years attended Faith Alliance Church in Attleboro.
Bob proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Coast Guard for four years, and was awarded the Korean Occupation medal, the National Defense medal, and the Good Conduct medal.
He served as Sergeant at Arms of American Legion Post 217 for many years before becoming Commander of the Post for two years, as well as serving as an Honor Guard Firing Team member and Honor Guard Commander. In 1988, he formed a new Fife & Drum Corps there. Bob was a member of the North Attleboro Veterans Council from 2010 until his retirement from the position.
In his younger years, Bob lived in Pawtucket, RI, and worked for Jensen Motors. He then decided to go into construction work which, in turn, led to masonry work.  Bob later became the proud owner of Bedard Masonry in North Attleboro, and his beautiful masonry work can be seen when riding throughout town. After a serious vehicle accident, he gave up masonry work and, in 1984, went to work as a maintenance technician for the North Attleboro Housing Authority, a position he held for almost 20 years.  In 2000, Bob's service to the community was recognized when he was awarded the North Attleboro/Plainville Rotary Club Distinguished Service Award as the Outstanding Public Employee of the Year.
Bob was also a member of the Stony Brook Camera Club and received many awards for his truly wonderful photography.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, he leaves his loving children: Robert M. Bedard of Pawtucket, RI; Karen A. (Bedard) Landry of Attleboro, MA; and his dear stepdaughter, Debra A. (Corbett) LaBree of South Attleboro, MA. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of Kelly (Landry) Pina, Elliot Bedard, and Alec Bedard.  Bob was the brother of Joseph Bedard and his wife, Mary Ann, of Ocala, FL; the late Lena (Bedard) McNulty, and the late Edward G. Bedard.  He is survived by many nieces and nephews, his extended family, and many dear friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.  A Funeral and Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel".
