Robert "Kip" G. Johnson, 69, of Sudbury, died peacefully at his residence on May 31, 2014 after a long, brave fight with cancer. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 29, 1944, he was a son of the late Stanley "Pete" N. and Barbara (Iris) Johnson. He was a 1962 graduate of Mount Hermon High School and earned his bachelor's degree in political science and philosophy from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst in 1966. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Kip proudly served with the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He resided in Florida and in Sudbury, MA and formerly lived in Hudson and Waltham. Kip was a retired from his self-employment with the company he founded, Williamsville Products in Ashland. His favorite pastimes included time spent boating, traveling, playing with his grandchildren, accompanying his son in the golf cart for golf games and sitting on the front porch of his Cape Cod home In North Carolina, Kip was a proud volunteer alongside his daughter as advocates for the homeless through the Missio dei:gso church in Greensboro. He leaves two children: Kirstin L. Cassell and her husband, Rob E. Cassell, of Greensboro and Kirk N. Johnson and his fiancé, Dana A. Bools, of Charlotte, North Carolina; his 12-year companion: Stephanie L. Rogalin of Sudbury; his grandchildren: Riley E. Cassell, Allyn L. Cassell and Amani R. Cassell all in North Carolina; two sisters: Judi I. Stebbins and Karen L. Newsom both in Maine and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Rick A. Johnson who passed away in 1999. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Funeral services and burial will be private.
