PAMELA S. KENNEDY-SMITH, 51 ROBERT J. SMITH, 51 Loving Wife and Husband "Together Forever" Pamela Susan Kennedy-Smith, 51, of Smith Street, North Attleboro, died on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a 15 month illness. She was the wife of Robert James Smith, 51, of Smith Street, North Attleboro, to whom she was married on August 6, 1983 and who died the following day, July 28, 2014, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a long illness. Ms. Kennedy-Smith was born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 25, 1962, a daughter of Sandra (Knight) Kennedy of Falmouth and the late Richard Kennedy. Raised and educated in Mansfield, Ms. Kennedy-Smith was a 1980 graduate of Mansfield High School. She resided in North Attleboro for most of her adult life. Ms. Kennedy-Smith was employed by Norwood Hospital for more than ten years and served in a number of capacities including ICU secretary, unit secretary, secretary in satellite chemotherapy locations and as a trainer. She was a longtime member of the Central Congregational Church in the Village of Attleboro Falls where she was currently serving as the clerk of the church and was chairperson of Christian Education and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Always active in her children's activities, Ms. Kennedy-Smith was actively involved in scouting having been affiliated locally with both the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the USA in both Foxboro and North Attleboro particularly with Crew 007 at Central Congregational Church. She was an ardent quilter. Mr. Smith was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on November 3, 1962, a son of Evelyn M. (Andrews) Smith of South Attleboro and the late Donald J. Smith who died on November 7, 2013. Raised and educated in the City of Attleboro, Mr. Smith was a 1981 graduate of Attleboro High School. He earned his associate's degree in business management with a minor in computer technology from Fisher College. He was a resident of North Attleboro for the past 23 years. Mr. Smith was employed as a purchasing agent for Electric Time Company in Medfield for more than ten years. Previously, Mr. Smith was employed by the former Microwave Specialties in Plainville in a variety of positions including tool maker, foreman and vice president. He was a longtime member of the Central Congregational Church in the Village of Attleboro Falls where he served as a church trustee, member of the Properties Committee, member of the Technology Committee and alongside his son, Mitchell, was instrumental in the clock restoration project. Mr. Smith also took great pride in his children's activities and was active with the Annawon Council Boy Scouts of America having served as the co-chair of the Venturing Committee and was also scoutmaster of Troop 23 in North Attleboro and with Crew 007 at Central Congregational Church. In addition to their mothers, they leave two children: Mitchell J. Kennedy-Smith of North Attleboro and Lance Corporal Kelcie M. Kennedy-Smith, U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in San Diego, California; her sister: Doreen Kennedy-Castro and her husband, Russell Castro, of Swansea; his brothers: Ronald Campbell and his wife, Claire Campbell, of Norton; John Campbell and his wife, Barbara Campbell, of Attleboro and James Campbell and his wife, Millicent Campbell, of South Attleboro, several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Celebration of Their Life on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Central Congregational Church, 115 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Carole L. Baker, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be private. Following church services an invitation will be extended to greet the family and join them for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the church.
