Robert Albert Heap

Robert Albert Heap, 89, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Life Care Center of Attleboro in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Constance L. (Lajoie) Heap, who died on October 22, 2005.Born on December 3, 1928 in Attleboro, he was the son of the late Raymond S. and Florida M. (Aussant) Heap.A lifelong resident of Attleboro where he was raised and educated, Albert proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army for twenty years. He then worked as a Cameraman for the Sun Chronicle newspaper for twenty-two years before his retirement in 1990.A man of great faith and devotion, he was a member of the former St. Stephen's Church in Attleboro where he served as a Lector. Robert was deeply patriotic: proud of his country and of his military experience. He enjoyed walking, and was a member of the Attleboro Elks #1014. More than anything, he loved simply being with his family and his cherished grandchildren.He was the loving father of Susan Anne Fiske Deus of Pawtucket, RI, and Carol Jeanne Heap of Brockton, MA. Robert was the adoring grandfather of Nicholas K. Heap, Alexander K. Heap, Dominic K. Heap, and Justin M. Fiske. He was the dear brother of Richard Heap of FL, and Diane Bouchard of Newport, RI. Robert was predeceased by his siblings: Ruth Poirier, Nancy Silveria, Lois Cockcroft, Myra Heap, Joan Nifong, and Raymond Heap. He leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Robert by gathering for a Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service with Full Military Honors at 11:00 a.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
