Robert E. Gammons, 67, of North Attleboro, MA, loving husband, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away at home on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
He was born on February 4, 1954, the son of the late Jeanne Sanford (Ouellette) and the late Robert E. Gammons Sr.
Bob was dedicated and loyal to those he held dear, and he led by example. Bob was a hard worker who was employed by Texas Instruments, EMS and, his final position at Bach Knives, where he earned the nickname "Million Dollar Bob" for the great success he achieved on behalf of the company. This position took him to Germany, Italy, Amsterdam, and India.
Bob was loved by so many and liked by everyone he met. Quick with a smile and a sarcastic joke, but always humble in his achievements and good deeds. He was comfortable in his own skin and didn't compromise his values for anyone. If you were a true friend of his, he was a true friend of yours. He enjoyed watching New England sports over the years, especially the New England Patriots. When it came to music, he preferred the music of his youth and listened to classic rock regularly. He was a great cook who used his many grills throughout the year. His weekend excursions to multiple grocery stores ensured he prepared the best meals. He and Janice entertained often, and invitations to their annual Christmas Breakfast and July Cookout were coveted.
He often said "it is what it is", which to him meant, you can't change the world, but you can adapt and accept what is happening around you. He held his head high and endured his disease of pancreatic cancer with calm dignity. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Gammons (Riley), and was the dear father of Robert Gammons and the late Jamie Gammons. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of Robert, Ryan, Sean, and Daniel. Bob leaves his sisters: Karen (Spittell) Ogden and her husband, Scott; Valerie (Spittell) Smith; and Deb Gammons; his brothers: Glenn Gammons and his wife, Christine; Craig Gammons; William Spittell and his wife Amanda; his special nieces: Nicole (Smith) Hennen and her husband, Mike; and Erin Smith; Amanda (Spittell) Souliere and her husband, Mason; and his special nephew, Derek Spittell and his wife Kelly. He leaves many nephews and nieces; his special cousin and friend Pam and her husband, Roy; many cousins; and many exceptional lifelong friends. He is predeceased by his mother Jeanne Sanford, son Jamie Gammons, and sister Valerie Spittell Smith.
At Bob's request, no services will be held.
