Robert Ervin Force, 88, a Retired Lieutenant with the Pawtucket, RI, Police Department, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro, MA. He was the loving and beloved husband of Rosemary Ellen (Kelley) Force, to whom he was married on September 6, 1947.Born on June 26, 1928 in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Carlton Force and the late Emily (Slade) Force.Robert was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School, Class of 1946. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Navy.A resident of Attleboro, MA for the past three years, he previously lived in Cumberland, RI for twenty-two years, where he was a member of Saint John Vianney Church and served as an Usher.Robert was genuinely a man of faith, integrity and loyalty. A member of the Pawtucket Police Department for thirty-six years, he had the distinct honor of serving alongside his son, Craig. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the CPOA of Rhode Island. He loved to travel, especially to New Hampshire and Cape Cod, and he had a special place in his heart for his Golden Retrievers over the years. His family meant the world to him. Robert and his wife were high school sweethearts, and he truly loved spending time with his son, who was his loving caregiver, his daughter-in-law, and the blessings in his life: his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Craig Stephen Force, Sr., and his wife, Jeanne L. (Dery) Force, of Attleboro, MA. He was the adoring grandfather of Jennifer L. Petrillo and her husband, James M. Petrillo; Craig "CJ" Stephen Force, Jr., and his wife, Patrice M. (Faretra) Force; Matthew R. Force and his wife, Chelsea (Hebert) Force; Alexandra J. Force and her fiancée, Lucas Mistler; and Kimberly A. Force and her fiancée, Thomas Wade, Jr.; and treasured great-grandfather of Victoria A. Petrillo; Olivia J. Petrillo; James M. Petrillo, Jr.; Gabriella R. Petrillo; Skylar C. Force; Connor R. Force; Addison J. Force; and Isabella "Bella" Mistler. He was excitedly looking forward to the birth of a new grandson and twin granddaughters. Robert leaves many dear friends. Private Visitation and Funeral Service with Veteran's Honors will be held in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
