Robert Walter Deforest, Jr.

Robert Walter DeForest, Jr., 51, of North Attleboro, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. Born on January 9, 1965 in Miami, FL, he was the son of Robert W. DeForest, Sr. and the late Constance M. (Chretien) DeForest. A lifelong resident of North Attleboro, he worked for many years as a Truck Driver.  Robert attended the North Attleboro VFW, and enjoyed working on cars, NASCAR, football, especially the New England Patriots, being outdoors and camping, his hot tub, and spending time with family and friends by the fire pit. He loved animals of all kinds, especially his faithful pets: his dog, "RJ", and his cats: "Shadow" and "Bruin".  More than anything else, he was a devoted father and grandfather who truly loved and was loved by his cherished family. He is survived by his children:  Justin R. DeForest; Daniel Scott DeForest; Crystal Leigh Vanderwood; and Robert Walter DeForest, III - who was a special blessing to him - all of North Attleboro, MA; and two treasured grandchildren: Felicia J. Vanderwood  and Nova-Leigh A. Vanderwood of North Attleboro, MA. He leaves his beloved fiancée, Tina Tetreault, and her family, of North Attleboro, MA.  Robert was the brother of Tammy M. (DeForest) Smith of Seekonk, MA; Michelle A. (DeForest) Ferrara of North Attleboro, MA; and Tracie L. (DeForest) Belanger of Woonsocket, RI. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on the left), 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro Children's room is available during visitation.
