Robert Leroy Curran, Sr., 90, of Attleboro, MA passed away under the care of hospice and in the company of his family on July 15, 2025, at his son's residence in Inverness, Florida following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Eileen E. Palmer-Curran who died on May 26, 2025, and the late Edna (Roberts) Curran who died October 3, 2008.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on August 30, 1934, he was a son of the late Frederick Curran and the late Audrey (Pigeon) Curran. He was raised and educated in his native community of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
He was a longtime member of Teamsters Union 251; he was employed by Eastern Toy and Adams Drug Store in the transportation industry for many years prior to his retirement.
Robert enjoyed model building and was well-known for making a replica of the Looff Slater Park carousel. He enjoyed taking road trips, going on cruises and mountain climbing. He traveled over 60 destination, tourist locations across the United States from coast to coast.
He had many talents including plumbing, electricity, carpentry, anything mechanical, could build anything simply using a scratch pad and pencil.
He leaves his children: Deborah Collins, Judith Martinez, the late Nancy Luszoz, the late Linda Goyette, Robert L, Curran, Jr., the late John Curran and his adopted granddaughter, Yvonne Bourk, in addition to his 15 grandchildren; with a legacy of 34 great grandchildren and members of the Palmer family.
Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend visitation on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA with a prayer service at 5:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 am in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in Newell Burying Ground, West Street, Attleboro, MA, by processional.
Following services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Sandcastle Clubhouse, 11 Drawbridge Lane (within the park), Attleboro Mass. (use 500 Mendon Road for main entrance to the park)
