Robert Daniel Cook, 90, of Scituate, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2017 at the Providence VA Medical Center in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of the late Lois B. (Schofield) Cook who died on October 10, 2000.Born on September 25, 1926 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late James and Clara (Morse) Cook.Robert proudly and honorably served our country aboard the U.S.S. Beatty in the United States Navy, and was the founder, owner, and operator for thirty years of BLD Specialties, a plating company, in North Attleboro, MA. He retired in 1995. Prior to living in Scituate, he had most recently lived in Pawtucket, RI for twelve years. Robert lived most of his life in North Attleboro and Plainville, MA. He was a member of the North Attleboro Elks Lodge, the Bristol Lodge, and the Free Masons, and was an active participant in numerous Veterans groups throughout his life. Robert truly enjoyed his work, was an avid sports fan, and especially loved to spend time with his family.He is survived by his loving daughter, Denise G. (Cook) Williams of Cookeville, TN; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; his brother, Donald Cook of PA; his extended family, and many dear friends. Robert was the father of the late Judy (Cook) Parlin, the late Robert Beaupre, and the late Lee Beaupre, and was predeceased by his sister.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Robert by gathering for a Memorial Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service with Military Honors at 7:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
