Robert G. Christopher, Jr., 66, of Rehoboth, MA, passed away on December 30, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. He was the husband of Lorry J. (Mitchell) Christopher to whom he was married on May 22, 1975.
Born in Fall River, MA on July 16, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert G. Christopher, Sr., and the late Jacqueline (Beaulieu) Christopher. He was educated in Warwick, RI where he was a 1974 graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in software engineering from Boston University.
He proudly served 35 years in the Rhode Island Air National Guard achieving the rank of CSMSgt "Chief" and served his country in Afghanistan.
Mr. Christopher was employed as a software engineer for Philips Medical in Cambridge, MA for the past 40 years.
A resident of Rehoboth, MA for the past 35 years, Robert and his wife attended the Grace Community Chapel in Seekonk, MA.
An accomplished runner, he ran more than 40 marathons including the Marine Corps, Boston many years, former Ocean State, Lincoln, Nebraska and even the Berlin, Germany marathon.
His favorite pastimes included target shooting and spending time creating lifelong memories with his family.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons: Matthew D. Christopher of Marion, MA and Jonathan R. Christopher of Dighton, MA; four grandchildren: Breigh, Braeden, Kevin and Colin; a sister: Catherine Lawrence in South Carolina and several extended family members, friends, and colleagues.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A committal service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 12:00 noon at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI. Burial will follow.
