Robert "Bob" Carmichael

August 1, 1944 — December 27, 2018

Robert "Bob" William Carmichael Jr., 74, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, with his family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Margaret "Margie" B. (Nolin) Carmichael, to whom he was married on November 12, 1983.
Born on August 1, 1944 in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of the late Robert W. Carmichael Sr., and the late Florence A. (Duffany) Carmichael Teixeira.
Bob attended Norton High School, received his G.E.D., and proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Air Force. He then worked for more than fifty years as a machinist for Plainville Machine in Plainville, MA, before retiring.
A resident of Attleboro since 1983, he was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Church and the Attleboro Lions. He previously lived in Norton, MA.
Bob was a warm, caring, friendly man of great faith. Truly mechanically minded, he enjoyed working with machines, especially at his home machine shop. Bob meticulously crafted a model train set and all of its unique landscaped settings, as well as a wooden baseball bat with his grandson. He enjoyed being outside, working in his yard and on his pool, and was always eager to lend a hand to his grandchildren with their school projects. Bob enjoyed his home and his neighbors. He loved animals of most every kind, especially cats, and held a special place in his heart for his beloved late "Brindle", who only recently died. More than anything, Bob deeply loved his family, and nothing made him happier than spending time with them, especially with his cherished grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Margie, he leaves his loving step-children: Diane A. Garcia of San Diego, CA; and Karen M. Koziol and her wife, Andrea L. McMahon, of North Smithfield, RI. He was the proud grandfather of Tyler P. Koziol and his companion, Michaela Martins, of Cumberland, RI; and Brittany N. Garcia and her companion, Brian Stevens, of San Diego, CA. He was the dear brother of Kathleen E. Bourgoin and her husband, Lee E. Bourgoin, of Falmouth, MA; Janice M. Russell of Pawtucket, and her late husband, James "Jim" E. Russell; and was predeceased by his brothers: the late David L. Carmichael and the late Bruce H. Carmichael. He leaves several nieces and nephews, his extended family, many dear friends, and his loving neighbors.
