Robert "Bob" Matthew Butters, 60, of Plainville, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband and childhood sweetheart of Kathleen Coffey Butters, to whom he was married on September 22, 1984.Born on September 20, 1956 in Norwood, MA, he was the son of the late David J. Butters and the late Jennie "Pat" (Patinsky) Butters.A graduate of Dedham High School, Class of 1974, he attended St. Anselm College and received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Stonehill College. Bob retired in 2012 after having worked for twenty years as a Sales Associate for On-line Computer Products, Inc. in Norwood, MA, and for ten years as a Sales Agent for John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston, MA. A resident of Plainville for the past two years, he previously lived for many years in North Attleboro, MA, where he was a member of St. Mark's Church.Bob loved the outdoors and enjoyed snow and water skiing, boating, dirt biking, and motorcycles. He loved music and animals, and was a five-year member of the Blackstone Valley HOG Club, the Attleboro Gun Club, and the Independent Sportsmen's Club in Foxboro, MA. Above all else, Bob loved being with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.In addition to his wife, he leaves his cherished children: Carly Elizabeth Butters of San Diego, CA, and David Edward Butters of Plainville, MA. Bob was the adoring grandfather of Dawson Noble Butters of North Attleboro, MA. He leaves many relatives and extended family.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Bob by gathering for a Visitation on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Church, 105 Stanley Street, Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
