Robert J. Bullock

Robert J. Bullock, 85, of Winter Street, Wrentham, died on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family following a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Joan Marie (Augusta) Bullock to whom he was married for 52 years prior to her death on August 21, 2005. Born in Arlington, Massachusetts on September 20, 1926, he was a son of the late Archibald "Archie" and Alice (Dailey) Bullock. He attended Arlington schools and was a graduate of St. John's Preparatory School. Mr. Bullock earned his bachelor's degree from Boston University and his accounting degree from Bentley University. Mr. Bullock was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served from November 3, 1944 until his honorable discharge on June 22, 1946. A builder and business owner, Mr. Bullock was the owner of the Wrentham Health Spa from 1975 - 1988. He resided in Wrentham since 1982 having moved to the community from Norfolk where he had resided for many years. His favorite pastimes included playing golf and tennis and woodworking projects around his home. He leaves eight children: Cynthia Walsh of Bellingham; Janet Gonzalez of Douglas; Robert J. Bullock, Jr. of Wrentham; Lorraine Cramer of Brookfield; Mary Alice Goff of Warwick, Rhode Island; Jackie Wilmot in Texas; Michael Bullock of Plainville and William Bullock of North Attleboro; 22 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a brother: Edward Bullock of Yarmouth and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was the brother of the late Ruth Gilmore and John Bullock. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral with Veteran's Honors on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial with military honors will follow in Wrentham Centre Cemetery. Children's room available during visitation and the funeral service. An invitation will be extended following cemetery services to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
