It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Henry Bray, 85, of North Attleboro, MA, announces his passing on Monday, January 22, 2018 at home, comforted by his family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth (Stowell) Bray, to whom he was married on July 20, 1957.Born on October 9, 1932 in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Russell J. and Leila (Sweet) Bray. He graduated from Pawtucket High School and received his Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Rhode Island and his Master's degree in Education from Boston University. Robert proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956 during the Korean War. Upon his return, he began his long and distinguished career in the Attleboro School system for thirty-five years, eventually serving as a Principal for twenty-five of those years. He attended St. Paul's Church in Pawtucket, RI for many years, and was a longtime member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was an avid reader who loved sailing, traveling throughout the world, and spending time at the beach, especially at Briggs Beach in Little Compton, RI. More than anything, he truly cherished being with his family.Robert will be fondly and lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty years, Mary, and his beloved children: his daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Hurley and her husband, Fred L. Hurley, of Lenox, MA; and his son: Steven A. Bray and his wife, Kathy F. (Farmer) Bray, of Salt Lake City, UT. Robert will also be remembered as the proud and adoring grandfather of Ryan B. Hurley, Jon F. Hurley, and Michael R. Hurley. He was predeceased by his siblings: Russell J. Bray, Jean Maynard-Dunbar, and John "Jack" F. Bray. He leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to honor and remember Robert at a Visitation on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.Friends and family are invited to attend a Requiem Mass on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket, RI.Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Robert to Volunteers of America, Utah, 435 Bearcat Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84115, or on-line at
