Robert Bliss

Robert Cameron Bliss, Esquire, 83, of North Attleboro, MA passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA.

He was born in Attleboro, MA and lived a life marked by hard work and the utmost dedication to his family.

He is the beloved husband of Prudence "Prudy" (Adams) Bliss to whom he shared 56 years of marriage. He is survived by his children, Cynthia Detscher and her husband, Mark Detscher of Bedford, NH, and Stacey Nassaney and her husband, Ryan Nassaney of North Attleboro, MA. He was a proud grandfather to Cameron, William, Meredith and Abigail Detscher and Owen, Shawn and Brayden Nassaney as well as many nieces and nephews.

As the patriarch of the family, Bob was known for his calm demeanor, steady guidance, great sense of humor and unconditional love and support.

He was the son of the late Carlton H. Bliss and Ethel (McKechnie) Bliss, and brother of the late Bruce Bliss, Donald Bliss and Carlton H. Bliss, Jr.

Bob was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro, MA. He graduated from Brown University in Providence, RI and New England School of Law in Boston, MA.

As a well-respected and trustworthy man, he served as Town Counsel for 33 years in the Town of North Attleboro, while maintaining a private law practice where he offered guidance and counsel to many. He also contributed his time and energy to numerous boards and civic organizations.

He enjoyed spending summers in Matunuck, RI, during his childhood, and in later years spent his summers walking, swimming, exploring, boating, and working in the yard in Meredith, NH at Lake Winnipesaukee.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

A Celebration of His Life and Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Second Congregational Church, 50 Park Street, Attleboro, MA.

Private graveside burial for the family will be at Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to either the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association (see links below).
