Rita Pearl (St. Jacques) Martell, 87, of Cumberland and Pawtucket, RI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Martell, to whom she was married on December 30, 1977 and who died on November 19, 2004. Born on March 24, 1930 in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Henry V. and Lillian B. (Roulard) St. Jacques.Rita worked for many years as an Assembler for Discovery Marketing in Pawtucket, RI until retiring in 2001. A resident of Cumberland for the past year, she previously lived in Pawtucket for twenty-five years. She enjoyed reading, yard work, traveling, visits to Foxwoods, and the simple delight of sitting on a swing in her yard. She also enjoyed going to the beach, especially East Matunuck Beach in RI. Rita was a member of the Bug Club in Central Falls, RI. She had a special place in her heart and in her life for "Peanuts", her faithful dog. More than anything, Rita loved spending time with her family.She was the loving mother of the late Theodore Sanocki and his wife, Victoria Sanocki, of Woonsocket, RI; Michael C. Sanocki and his wife, Julie Sanocki, of Pawtucket, RI; Deborah A. (Sanocki) Hoogasian and her husband, David Hoogasian, of Cumberland, RI; Cheryl A. Sanocki of Cumberland, RI; and Lori A. (Sanocki) Desjardin and her husband, Dennis J. Desjardin, of Pawtucket, RI. Rita was the adoring grandmother of seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and was excitedly looking forward to the birth of a seventh great-grandchild. She was the sister of the late Ronald H. St. Jacques and the late Doris B. Dubois, and leaves several nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Rita by gathering for a Visitation on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
