Rita M. (Morin) Gorman, 96, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 26, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond F. Gorman, to whom she was wed on July 10, 1948, and who died on February 19, 2008.Born on October 18, 1921 in Canada, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Ayotte) Morin.Raised and educated in Jewett City, CT, she lived most of her life in Attleboro, MA. Rita had also resided in Norton, MA, and, for fifteen years, spent the winter months in St. Sebastian, FL. She worked for many years as a Jewelry Assembler for various jewelry businesses in the community before retiring in 1984.A kind and gentle woman with a warm smile, she loved tending to her flower garden, bird watching, and writing cookbooks, including two books on behalf of The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette, both of which were bestsellers. Rita was a generous woman who volunteered her time and effort for many years at La Salette. In addition to her late husband, Raymond, Rita was predeceased by her sister. She leaves her friend and caretaker, Ricardo Mejia, and his family, of Pawtucket, RI.All services will be private.
