Richard Brigham Will, 85, of North Attleboro, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of Barbara M. (Chipman) Will to whom he was married on July 18, 1953 in Chestnut Hill, MA. Born in Schenectady, NY on November 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Irving M. and Margaret (Brigham) Will. He was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School, Class of 1946; and of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Class of 1952, graduating with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. Mr. Will was also certified to be a high school Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning teacher at the vocational level. Mr. Will proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1948 to his honorable discharge in 1952. Mr. Will served his country in Korea during this time. He was a Massachusetts Registered Professional Engineer and an owner/operator of Will Associates in Pawtucket, RI from 1975 to 2002. He retired in 2002. Mr. Will was a member of the Central Congregational Church in Attleboro Falls for over 53 years. He was a past member of the "A.S.H.R.A.E. "(American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers), where Mr. Will had served as past president, past secretary, past treasurer, and past historian. Mr. Will was a member of the Old Colony Amphibians Dive Club since 1963, as he was an avid scuba diver. He was also a YMCA Certified Scuba Instructor and instructed at both the Attleboro and North Attleboro YMCA's for four years. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and an active alumni associate at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Will was known for his love of the outdoors, either by boating, fishing, skiing or gardening. Classic cars were also a passion of his. In addition to his wife of 60 years; Mr. Will is survived by his two children: Sandra L. Gelinar of Attleboro and David M. Will and his wife, Sue E. (Wegener) of Foxboro; four grandchildren: Kyle M. and Carolynn E. Will of Foxboro; Christopher W. Gelinas of Providence, RI and Daniel A. Gelinas of Attleboro. He also leaves one niece: Diana Bennett; and two nephews: Steven and Gary Bennett. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Central Congregational Church, 115 Commonwealth Avenue, Attleboro Falls, with the Rev. Carole L. Baker, Pastor, officiating. Burial with Military Honors to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Will's memory to the Central Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 115 Commonwealth Avenue, Attleboro Falls, MA 02763.
