Richard Pleau

Richard W. Pleau II, 73 years old

Born January 14, 1952, in Woonsocket, RI, he passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the Oakland Grove Health Care Center after a battle of lung cancer.

He was so caring, compassionate, loved to laugh, enjoyed his coffee, and breakfast was his favorite meal of the day. He always worked hard all of his life and loved family, including his great niece and nephew, and his friends.

He has a brother, Larry Creason from California; a sister, Judy McKenna from Florida; his niece and god-daughter: Candy M. Leander and her husband, Manuel A. Leander, from West Warwick, RI; great niece and god-daughter: Courtney E, Toporoski, from North Smithfield, RI; great nephew and his best buddy Cameron M. Toporoski from West Warwick, RI; nephew: Joey R. Sevigny and his wife, Theresa Sevigny and their daughter, Skyler and a lot of other nieces and nephews all over the United States.

He was predeceased by his mother: Marjorie B. (Nelson) Pleau; his father: Richard W. Pleau, Sr., his sister: Candy E. (Pleau) Lanoue; a brother: William Creason and a sister: Margie-Ann Belanger.

Richard was an aritist of all and known for his paintings and other art of all forms. He loved to listen to music, loved history, nature, good Western movies, and gardening.

He worked in retail later in life and had been employed by Benny's and Burlington Coat Factory where he was in charge of doing displays and had also worked in health care having been employed at Mount Saint Francis.

Richard joined the United States Coast Guard in 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1972.
