Richard William Paradis, 79, of New Bedford, MA; a native of the City of Attleboro, MA died on April 6, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital following an illness. He was the companion of the late Albert F. Alexander who died on February 17, 2001.
Born in Attleboro, MA on April 6, 1942, he was a son of the late Arthur E. Paradis, Sr. and the late Dorothy (Langton) Paradis. Raised and educated in Attleboro, Richard was a 1960 graduate of Attleboro High School.
Mr. Paradis proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from his induction on February 28, 1964, until his honorable discharge on February 22, 1966.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut, Josten's in Attleboro and was the owner and operator of a florist, Paradis Flowers, in Fairhaven, MA for 12 years.
He was a longtime resident of the City of New Bedford.
Richard will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his laugh and wit and his love for bowling in earlier years.
He leaves no immediate survivors.
Mr. Paradis was the brother of the late Arthur E. Paradis, Jr.

A private service with military honors was held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
