Richard Americo Mencarini

Richard Americo Mencarini, 78, of North Attleboro, MA passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 22, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Marcia M. (Cyr) Mencarini.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 24, 1947, he was a son of the late Americo R. Mencarini and the late Pauline (LaRochelle) Mencarini. Raised and educated in Woonsocket, RI, he was a 1965 graduate of Woonsocket High School. He later earned an associate's degree in business management and a bachelor's degree in accounting, both from Johnson & Wales University.

He was a proud Vietnam veteran who served with the United States Army.

In earlier years, he was a carpenter in the construction industry in Boston prior to matriculating in college. He was employed as an accountant by Univis Frame and retired from Hilco in 2016.

He was a member of the Italian American Workmen's Club and was a member of Cercle Laurier social club in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

He enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and doing household projects with his wife and playing tennis, bowling, and especially golf. In earlier years, he was a member of the Woonsocket Racquet Ball club and softball team. Later, as an ardent bowler, he was a member of bowling leagues in Woonsocket, RI and North Attleboro, MA. His was a passionate golfer and he belonged to several golf leagues, but he particularly loved golfing with his daughter.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children: Jason Mencarini and his wife, Mary Beth Mencarini, of Cumberland, RI; Jennifer Morello and her husband, Christopher Morello, of Cranston, RI; Stephen Smith and his wife, Rhonda Smith of North Attleboro, MA and Jennifer Vitelli of North Attleboro, MA; his grandchildren: Emmalyn Smith, Nathan Smith, Brady Vitelli, Brenna Vitelli, Adam Morello, Peter Morello and Jake Mencarini; his siblings: Natalie Robitaille and her husband, Richard Robitaille, of North Scituate, RI; Barbara Mencarini of North Smithfield, RI; Roger Mencarini and his wife, Denise Mencarini, of North Smithfield, RI and his sister-in-law: Marie "Frannie" Mencarini, wife of his late brother and best friend, David Mencarini who died on February 22, 2025. He also leaves nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

All are warmly welcome to attend visitation on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA.

A Funeral Service with military honors will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 12:00 Noon in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA.

Burial will be private in St. Jean-Baptiste Cemetery, Blackstone, MA.
