Richard Howard MacLeod, Jr., 42, of Foxboro, died unexpectedly at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood on Friday, July 8, 2011 after having been stricken ill while at work. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on January 25, 1969, he was a son of the late Richard H. MacLeod, Sr. and the late Mary Louise (Flood) MacLeod. He was raised and educated in Canton where he was a 1987 graduate of Canton High School. He was a graduate of Bridgton Academy and attended Plymouth State College. Mr. MacLeod was currently employed as the general manager of Waxy OConnors, a truly authentic Irish pub and eatery, in Foxboro and was also employed by The Home Depot in Mansfield for the past six years. He resided in Foxboro for the past three years having previously resided in North Attleboro and Newmarket, New Hampshire. Mr. MacLeod will be remembered for his strong work ethic and for being a dedicated father to his two cherished sons with whom he enjoyed creating lifelong memories and treasured assisting them with their musical endeavors. He was a friend of Bill W. Mr. MacLeod leaves his two sons: Jack H. MacLeod and Sam A. MacLeod both of Newmarket, New Hampshire; two sisters: Maryellen M. Galvin of Plainville and Suzanne M. Stevens of North Attleboro; a brother: David F. MacLeod of Plainville and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He was the nephew of the late Susan D. Flood, former City Clerk for the City of Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, July 14, 2011from 4:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are also cordially invited to attend the funeral on Friday, July 15, 2011at 8:30 AM from the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM at St. Marthas Church, 227 South Street Route 1A, Plainville with the Rev. Thomas Stanton, Pastor, officiating. Private burial will follow in the family lot at St. Marys Cemetery, Canton where Mr. MacLeod will be reunited with his beloved family members. Following Mass an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. Childrens room available during visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized prior to the commencement of the funeral Mass. It is requested that flowers be omitted and that, if desired, memorial donations in Mr. MacLeods name be made to the Jack and Sam MacLeod Education Fund by visiting any TD Banknorth location.
