Richard S. Carreiro. Sr.

January 8, 1946 — December 15, 2023

Richard S. Carreiro, Sr., 77, of Norton, MA, passed away in the early morning hours of December 15, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his devoted family.  He was the husband of Susan Marie (McCarthy) Carreiro to whom he was married on May 28, 1994.
Born in Fall River, MA on January 8, 1946, he was a son of the late Manuel Carreiro and the late Mary (Medeiros) Carreiro.  He was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro and was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Carreiro was employed as cable inspector prior to his retirement.  He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Norton.
He resided in Norton for more than 30 years and had enjoyed travelling particularly to Florida and Hawaii.
Fishing, riding motorcycles, going to Disney and watching NASCAR were among his favorite pastimes.
He loved all music and movies.  He was a huge Elvis fan.
In addition to his wife of almost 30 years, he leaves his children: Louise Ebert (Ben) in Tennessee; William Whitten, Jr. (Stephanie) of Leominster, MA; Kevin Whitten (Meghan) of Rehoboth, MA; Stephen Whitten (Caitlin) of Norton, MA and Lindsey Briggs (Joey) of Norton, MA; 11 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; his sister: Patricia Quinn of Attleboro, MA and several nieces, nephews. extended family members including his wife's family and many dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
All are welcome to attend the Funeral Service with Veteran's Honors on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 12:00 noon in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial with military honors will follow at Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton, MA.
Flowers are accepted or memorial donations in Richard's name and memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA  02379.
