Richard "Dick" Lincoln Barstow, 82, of Whispering Pines, North Attleboro, a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend died on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on February 12, 1931, he was the dear son of the late Lawrence W. Barstow, Sr. and Lillian Barstow. He was educated in the native community of Norwood. He previously lived in Norfolk and Wrentham, and then residing in North Attleboro most of his life. Mr. Barstow was a proud veteran serving in the United States Army having achieved the rank of Corporal. He was employed as a machine operator at Draper Brothers retiring several years ago. His favorite pastimes included time spent around his home gardening and on the internet with his computer. Flea markets were another favorite pastime but most of all he enjoyed time spent with his children, grandson, family and friends. He leaves a daughter: Sandra L. Newman and her husband, Phil S. Newman, of South Attleboro; two sons: Charles R. Barstow of Taunton and Greg L. Barstow of Attleboro; his brothers: Ray Barstow and his wife, Marilyn Barstow, of Worcester; Robert Barstow of Maine; Roger Barstow of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; Roy Barstow his wife, Mary Barstow, of Teaticket; a sister: Rosalyn Dix of Plainville; a sister-in-law: Edith Barstow; a grandson: Trevor R. Kincaid of Seekonk and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cynthia L. Kincaid, and two brothers: Lawrence "Sonny" W. Barstow, Jr. and Ralph Barstow. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Friday, March 29th, 2013, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ram, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
