Raymond O. Tondreau, Sr.

Raymond O. Tondreau, Sr., 77, of Thacher Street, Attleboro, died peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Sheila Anne (McFadden) Tondreau who died on October 31, 2008. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 10, 1934, he was a son of the late Francis and Semlida Tondreau. He was raised in Sharon where he attended Sacred Heart School and later moved to Attleboro where he was a graduate of Attleboro High School. He remained a resident of Attleboro for most of his life. He was currently a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro. Prior to his retirement several years ago, Mr. Tondreau was employed as a machine operator for many years at the former Metal Barrows Company, now Aerospace, in Sharon. He enjoyed times spent working in his yard and was loyal to the Toyota brand. He leaves three children: Suzanne M. St. Cyr and her husband, Marc St. Cyr, of Attleboro; Raymond O. Tondreau, Jr. and his wife, Mary Tondreau, of New Bedford and City of Attleboro Firefighter Bruce R. Tondreau and his wife, Tammy Tondreau, of Attleboro; seven grandchildren; a sister: Lucille St. Pierre of South Attleboro and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was the paternal grandfather of the late Eric Smith Tondreau. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend committal prayers on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Mount St. Marys Cemetery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
