Raymond Leslie Priest, 87, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of Sally Ann (Jillson) Priest, and the late Ruth Adele (Harwood) Priest.Born on February 14, 1930 in Granville, NY, he was the son of the late Louis and Anna (Williams) Priest. A resident of North Attleboro for the past twenty-one years, he previously lived in Florida. Raymond proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea and received, in particular, the Naval Occupation Service Medal for his service.He worked for thirty-two years in the shipping and receiving department of Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA, and as a Baker for Shaw's Supermarkets in North Attleboro for thirteen years, before his much deserved retirement for employment.An active and outgoing man, he was a member of the Attleboro Elks and the Attleboro Moose Lodge. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, most especially fishing with his son and grandson. He trained hunting dogs and loved taking walks. Raymond cherished spending time with his family and had loved the companionship of his late dog, "Sammy", and his cat, "Sweetie Pie". In addition to his wife, he leaves his dear children: Mark Raymond Priest and his wife, Suzanne M. Priest, of Attleboro, MA; and Annette Karen (Priest) Varieur and her husband, Marc Varieur, of Attleboro, MA. He leaves his step-children: Corrine M. Thibodeau and her husband, William "Billy" D. Griffith, of Mendon, MA; Steven J. Chaput and his wife, Lori Chaput, of Freetown, MA; Sherrie Lee Buckley and her husband, Robert F. Buckley, of Sagamore Beach, MA; and Troy M. Chaput and his wife, Missy Chaput, of Attleboro, MA. He was the adoring grandfather of Gregory N. Priest and Amanda R. Powers, and leaves his extended family members and dear friends.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Raymond by gathering for a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church Street, Granville, NY, immediately followed by a Funeral Service there at11:00 a.m.Burial Services with Full Military Honors will follow in a cemetery location in Granville, NY to be announced.
