Raymond "Ray" Peter Gaumond, 60, of Attleboro, MA passed away suddenly and unexpectedly after a period of declining health at his residence on Friday, July 30, 2021. He was the best friend and husband of Cindy Ann (Reed) Gaumond, whom he married on October 27, 1990.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 2, 1960, Ray was a son of the late Harry Gaumond Sr. and the late Blanche (Cribari) Gaumond.
He was raised and educated in Cumberland, RI, where he was a 1979 graduate of Cumberland High School. Ray resided in Cumberland prior to moving to Mansfield, MA for a brief time before settling in the City of Attleboro in 1997. He was employed as a truck driver for Aero Global Logistics in Foxboro, MA for many years until illness prevented his employment.
In his youth he received his sacraments and was a communicant, along with his family, of St. Aidan Roman Catholic Church.
Lovingly remembered as a "good natured guy", Ray enjoyed times spent mountain climbing the New Hampshire White Mountains, taking rides on his Kawasaki and Harley Davison motorcycles, playing street hockey and, more recently, watching television.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters: Ashley Gaumond and Renee Gaumond both of Attleboro, MA; his siblings: Donna Scotto and her husband, Gerald Scotto of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, Harry Gaumond, Jr. of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; Debra Fernandes of Cumberland, RI; his wife's siblings: Deb Cuneo of Attleboro, MA, wife of the late Leonard Cuneo; Roy Reed and his wife, Carol (Skivington) Reed of Norton, MA; Donna Babits of Attleboro, MA, and her late husband, Ralph Babits; Glenn Reed and his wife, Brenda Reed, of Attleboro, MA; Jeffrey Reed of Attleboro, MA. He was the brother-in-law of the late Karen Cannon and uncle of the late Anthony Reed. Ray leaves behind several nieces and nephews, his extended family, and many dear friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. A Celebration of Life Service will commence at 1:00 p.m. following the conclusion of visitation.
Burial will be private.
