Raymond Joseph Marceau, Sr., 73, of Clarks Row, Bristol, Rhode Island; formerly of North Attleboro; died suddenly and unexpectedly at his residence on Monday, January 16, 2012. Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on July 12, 1938, he was a son of the late Rosaire and Bernadette (Auclaire) Marceau and stepson of the late Laura (Guay) Marceau. Raised and educated in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Mr. Marceau was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy and later attended the former Rhode Island Radio and Technical Institute for two years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1960. Mr. Marceau began his career with Control Data and then was employed by the Xerox Corporation in Lexington, Massachusetts for many years before joining the Honeywell Corporation. Prior to his retirement, he returned to the Xerox Corporation from which he retired ten years ago. He moved to Bristol, Rhode Island in 1997 from North Attleboro where he had resided since 1975. While living in North Attleboro, Mr. Marceau was a communicant of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church. His favorite times were those spent on his boat deep sea fishing but he most treasured the times creating lifelong memories with his three cherished grandchildren. He leaves two sons: Raymond J. Marceau, Jr. and his wife, Melanie S. (Enos) Marceau, of North Attleboro and Randy T. Marceau of North Attleboro; a daughter: Deanna M. Dwyer and her husband, John F. Dwyer, of West Greenwich, Rhode Island; three grandchildren: Nicole Marceau, Ashley Marceau and R. J. Marceau III all of North Attleboro; a sister: Helen McDonald and her husband, Thomas McDonald, of Dover, Massachusetts and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Thomas A. Frechette, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Towne Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
