Raymond C. Mangeni, 33, of Lincoln, Rhode Island and a native of Uganda, passed away on December 11, 2023, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence, Rhode Island, after having been stricken ill unexpectedly at his residence on November 28, 2023.
Born in his native country of Uganda on June 2, 1990, he was a son of Michael L. Mangeni (wife Daalou Bandaogo), of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Theopista Anyango of Uganda. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 13. He settled in the City of Pawtucket with his family and was a 2009 graduate of Tolman High School.
"Ray" as he was known to his family and friends, was employed as a Customer Service Specialist for Santander Bank in East Providence, Rhode for almost the past two years.
Although a young man, he had a strong faith and attended Liberty Apostolic Church in Pawtucket, RI and the family recalls the blessing of him offering grace at Thanksgiving just days before being stricken ill.
His family adored him, particularly his younger brothers who worshipped their role model. The time they spent together was truly a blessing and they created many memories to cherish for a lifetime.
He was a fan of the Liverpool Soccer Club and was also a fan of the New England Patriots. His favorite pastimes included listening to music and he was a "self-proclaimed" grill and barbecue extraordinaire.
In addition to his father, stepmother and mother, he leaves his brothers: Louis M. Mangeni and Eric L. Mangeni both of Pawtucket, RI and his siblings in Uganda that include: Kevin, Conrad, Francis, Elizabeth, Daphne, Paul and Keith; several uncles and aunts, including Andrew (wife Anna Mangeni) and David Mangeni, of Lincoln, Maria Mangeni of Uganda and cousins, countless extended family around the world and many dear friends. He was the brother of the late Anne-Marie Mangeni.
