Rameshbhai Mangalbhai Patel, 80, of South Grafton, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, in Worcester, MA. He was the beloved husband of Ushaben Rameshbhai Patel, whom he married on May 21, 1967.
Born on June 7, 1940 in Nar Gujarat, India, he was the son of the late Mangalbhai Patel and the late Dahiben Patel.
Raised and educated in India, he was a resident of South Grafton for the past six years, having previously lived in Pennsylvania. Rameshbhai first came to the United States in 1995. Before his retirement, he had worked for many years in various retail businesses.
He was a man truly devoted to his family and to his faith. He had a jovial personality and a helping attitude. He truly enjoyed life to the fullest with people and parties and believed in living in the moment. He treasured being with his grandchildren and simple pleasures of watching movies and sports in the comfort of his home and would often spend time at the Senior Care Center with Ushaben.
In addition to his cherished wife, he leaves his loving children: Apeksha Patel of Lakeland, FL; Bhavna Patel of Hazelton, PA; Ketan R. Patel of South Grafton, MA; and Divyen Patel of South Grafton, MA. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of seven grandchildren and the brother of the late Kantibhai Patel and the late Savita Patel.
With strict adherence to all applicable COVID-19 precautions, including social distancing and the use of face masks, family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation and Hindu Ritual Service on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a Traditional Hindu Service and Cremation Service at 12:00 Noon at North Purchase Crematory, Attleboro, MA.
