Ralph N. Pelchat, 92 of Plainville, MA and formerly Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Jackson) Pelchat. They were happily married for 61 years before her passing.
Born in Attleboro, MA on February 1,1932, he was the son of the late Eloi Pelchat and Grace (Barr) Foster and a step-father, Wilson Foster.
Ralph was a US Army Veteran, stationed in Germany. He married his high school sweetheart upon discharge in 1954 and they made their home in South Attleboro, MA. He was employed as the Soldering Foreman at Sweet Manufacturing in Mansfield, MA, before retiring in 1997, at which time they moved to Centerville, MA, and spent many winters in Jensen Beach, FL. They returned to South Attleboro (Sandcastle Estates) and Ralph eventually made his home in Plainville following the death of his wife in 2015. He was a lifelong, avid fan of the New England teams, especially the Boston Red Sox. He always took great pride in his home, lawn and gardens.
He is survived by his loving children, Barbara Ann Whitman and Donald Pelchat, who was his caregiver, along with his partner Maureen McAvoy. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Melissa Alberg and Alex Alberg, dear great-grandson, Spencer Alberg, and a devoted sister, Marlene Witham of Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Pelchat and Jean Bourgeois. Ralph also leaves behind his precious and loyal companion, Lucy.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of his Life will follow at 6:00 pm. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will be private.
