Phyllis Ann Clark

Phyllis Ann (Darrow) Clark, 91, of Upton, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Genesis Milford Center in Milford, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Henry Clark III.Born on December 27, 1926 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Leland G. Darrow and the late Katherine (Lehane) Darrow.A graduate of Belmont High School, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Boston University. Phyllis was the caring and proud owner of the "Troy Court Guest House", a bed and breakfast inn located in Harwich Port, MA, before she retired in 1995.A resident of Cape Cod since 1976, she previously lived in Winchester, MA, and Northport, NY. She delighted in playing bridge at the Harwich Senior Center, and truly loved living on the Cape, often saying she never wanted to leave. Phyllis had a love of animals, especially her cats over the years, and more than anything, she loved being with her family.She was the loving mother of Eugene "Gene" H. Clark IV and his wife, Monika I. (Gospos) Clark, of Cumberland, RI; and Edmund "Ted" L. Clark and his wife, Charlotte E.M. (Beaupre) Clark, of Upton, MA.   She was the proud grandmother of Eugene H. Clark V, Martin C. Clark, Nicholas J. Clark, Sarah M. Spector, and Peter R. Clark; and the adoring great-grandmother of Eugene H. Clark VI and Sophie L. Clark.  Phyllis was the dear sister of Katherine Durant of Ithaca, NY and Leland D. Darrow of FL.  She was predeceased by her sister, Sylvia Darrow, and leaves several nieces and nephews. She came to love and cherish many lifelong friends with whom she worked at Troy Court; among them, Leslie Froes, Kathleen Duggan and Elizabeth Duggan.All services will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Phyllis to Paws of Plainville, P.O.
