Philip "Phil" George Elias, 59, of Bushee Street, Attleboro, MA died surrounded by his loving family at his home on Monday, June 16, 2014. He was the beloved and cherished husband of Charlene M. (Bowers) Elias to whom he was married on June 13, 1987 in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 28, 1954, he was a son of Margaret M. (Medwar) Elias of Plainville and the late Philip S. Elias. He was raised and educated in Dedham where he was a 1972 graduate of Dedham High School. As a former oil service coordinator and dispatcher, Mr. Elias had been formerly employed by US Air - HVAC in Randolph; Fraser Engineering in Newton and Atlas Oil Corporation in Dedham. For the past four years, Mr. Elias was employed as a personal trainer at the Attleboro YMCA, in which he considered to be his dream job. A loyal and steadfast sports enthusiast, Mr. Elias dedicated and devoted his life to youth sports. He was a Pop Warner Football Coach in both Attleboro and Dedham having served for more than 40 years. He was a baseball, soccer, and football coach in Attleboro where he was admired and respected. He provided a tremendous support system and structure for each and every one of the athletes he mentored. His family and friends were of utmost importance to him as he was happiest supporting his children's sports endeavors, having never missed a game. In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves a daughter: Kelly M. Elias and her companion, Peter R. Coskren, both of Attleboro; a son: Philip C. Elias of Attleboro; a sister: Karen L. Nighelli and her husband, Richard J. Nighelli, of Norton; two brothers: Steven P. Elias of Mansfield and Paul M. Elias, husband of Mary (Mann) Elias, of Franklin and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Attleboro Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 133 North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro with the Rev. Richard Williams, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro. A children's room is available during visitation. There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to commencement of the Funeral Mass. Following cemetery services, an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
